They have lunch at Pier 39. Jason is happy because he gets to eat his clam chowder which he has been craving for the past few days. They also order an orange juice. Jason does not really drink water but juices and other drinks.

After lunch, they walk around Pier 39 and take pictures. Joanne notice fat walruses sunbathing on a floating deck. Jason thinks they are elephant seals but Joanne thinks they are walruses. (Jo's edit: upon googling, Joanne realise that they are sea lions) They also spot Alcatraz prison from Pier 39.

Taken for J who said "this carousel brings back nostalgic memories." He sat on it four years ago. Note: he was definitely more than 12 years old when he sat on it :P

They then head to Ghirardelli chocolate factory. They both sampled a piece of peanut butter chocolate each but it was slightly too sweet for their liking. Joanne throws half her piece away.

They then both headed to Crown & Crumpet, a tea salon located in the Ghirardelli village, to have tea. That salon served 40 different types of tea. They didn’t want to drink anything sweet. They both took advantage of the free wireless from the nearby hotel. They ordered a pot of tea that taste like roses and sweet honey. It was very nice.

Then they head back to the hotel. Jason does more work. Joanne types up diary entry. And then Joanne blogs.

They both have a very late dinner – 9.30 pm. They walk to Chinatown. Joanne is very grumpy and moody because she feels faint from the lack of food. Upon reaching Chinatown, they realise that most restaurants have closed or are starting to close. They are both quite surprised because they thought Chinatown would still be alive at this time.

They settle at one of the few opened restaurants. Joanne orders a roast duck + siew yok on rice. Jason orders a roast duck + char siew on rice. The duck was okay. The siew yok was not great. Jason did not really eat his duck because he doesn’t like anything with bones (Jo's edit: so picky!)
